Reading the Pipeline
The project pipeline highlights continued momentum in offshore wind development. While Asia remains the largest construction market, Europe continues to maintain a substantial project pipeline, reflecting the sector's long-term growth prospects. The data also shows a clear trend towards larger turbines and larger project sizes, improving project economics and accelerating capacity deployment.
How to Read the Data
Each project entry includes key project and technical information, such as project name, wind turbine supplier, asset owner, developer, turbine model, project status and others. Where relevant, comments provide additional context on decommissioning, repowering, ownership changes and other notable project developments.
Total installed capacity is reported in MW and reflects the combined capacity of all turbines within a project. The "WTG Size (MW)" column indicates the rated capacity of an individual turbine. "Foundation Type" identifies the primary foundation technology used, such as driven monopile, drilled monopile, concrete caisson, or floating foundation systems where applicable.
The "Status" column distinguishes between projects that are in operation, under construction, decommissioned, or at other defined stages of the project lifecycle. Users can utilise the pivot tables to compare project distribution, installed capacity, technology adoption, and ownership patterns across regions and countries within the global offshore wind market.
